MacBreak Weekly 125: 25 Years And Still Going Strong

Although the announcement of iLife ’09 at Macworld was somewhat underwhelming, the first impressions all around seem pretty positive.  The new iMovie and iPhoto have apparently seen the biggest improvements. The idea of putting OS X on a netbook is very appealing.  I’m very tempted to get an MSI Wind and put it on there.  Of course it wouldn’t do any heavy lifting, but that is what my Macbook Pro is for anyway. Patrick and Veronica are roaming the show floor of Macworld on this episode.  Does anyone use trackballs anymore?  I haven’t really seen those around since the 90s. Engadget kicks off their stretch of daily CES podcasts today by talking about Apple.  They don’t seem too impressed with the new iTunes tiered pricing. It’s really nice to hear discussion about Apple from people who cover the industry as whole and are not Apple-focused.  It really makes you realize how much things have changed with Apple getting this kind of coverage even if it’s not all positive.  It warms my heart a little. The guys are live from Macworld.  We get a great group with almost the whole classic group back together. I think many found the the announcements today at Apple’s keynote to be somehwat underwhelming.  I would have to agree to a degree.  iLife ’09 and iWork ’09 look great as does the new 17″ MacBook Pro.  We are left waiting for new hardware outside of the 17″ though. This means we should have some more Apple special events early in the year though, so more excitement to come. iTunes going almost completely DRM...
