It’s TWiT number 200 and to commemorate this milestone is the original TWiT crew of Leo, John C. Dvorak, Patrick Norton, Roger Chang and David Prager.

First topic this week is Twitter and how it has been used to such a great effect in Iran. It has been invaluable in giving the world a real view into what is happening to people on the streets protesting.

The RIAA is back in the news with their successful prosecution of a Minnesota woman who downloaded 24 songs and is being fined $1.9 million. They seem to be as clueless as ever and are doing a great job of getting people to hate them even more.

There is a big discussion about the recent story that Steve Jobs had a liver transplant two months ago in Tennessee. While there is still speculation at the validity of this story, Leo himself was tipped off about this a month ago so it is looking to be accurate.

For show 200, some of the original TWiTs talk about a $1.9 million fine for 24 pirated songs, Morro, Steve Jobs, and more.

Gary Vaynerchuck is on this week and things get a little crazy. This guy has a crazy amount of energy, almost overpowering. It’s hard to out-talk Alex, but it happens here.

One of the big things on the internet recently is bacon and it’s gets some time here. How does something like bacon become “popular?” Kevin and Alex were at SXSW last week and some of their friends were getting bacon tattoos. People, friends don’t let friends get bacon tattoos.

We posted the video here a few weeks ago but Prager will be on next week’s Diggnation to talk about the whys and hows of live-streaming a break-in at his apartment. Check out the video in preparation for next week’s episode after the jump.

This week’s show is a really great one. Kevin Rose and David Prager from Digg and Revision3 are on this week and Kevin is talking about his successful call of last week’s iPhone OS 3.0 announcements. He gives some insight into Digg’s newest product which is a link shortening service that is to be debuted within the next few weeks.

The backlash from the recent Facebook interface change has been pretty dramatic but not unexpected. The general public tends to always hate sweeping overarching changes to something they use on a daily basis.

The group is what makes this one. Things always go a little loopy when Jason Calacanis is on the show.

TWiT 185: TWiTs in Space

In this weeks episode Leo talks to David Prager who not only had his house invaded by someone he doesn’t know, but instead of calling the police he Twittered and started a UStream to chronicle the situation. Say what you will about the way he handled it, it is extremely interesting and a real sign of the web 2.0 era we are living in.

Kevin Rose’s new website wefollow.com is talked about here. If you haven’t taken a look at it, it is a central directory of Twitter accounts divided into relevant categories. You can add yourself to the directory and Leo has tried to do just that, and much to his chagrin, without success. As of now he is still not included, Kevin needs to get on this.

The issue of Apple putting even more DRM into the new iPod Shuffle is a big deal to many on this week. While it makes a lot of business sense for Apple to do this, it is pretty bad for consumers as it does nothing other than drive the price of third party peripherals up. The guys make a good point though, the public won’t care.

iPhone OS 3.0 gets a little time at the end here, but stay tuned for Tuesday’s MacBreak Weekly for the full scoop as the announcements take place early on the 17th.

We are lucky enough to get a clip show on this weeks episode of TWiT. When it comes to a weekly show, making a clip show is incredibly time consuming and labor intensive so it great to get this one.

Listening to all of these clips makes me glad I put TWiT in the top 5 that I put out a few days ago. The discussion here is great with so many different points of view from so many people. You absolutely will not find another tech podcast with a better roster than this.
