So, it is the last episode of at1UP for a while after the recent layoffs that included Jade. Mike also reveals that 1UP will be moving to a smaller office space in December, so it is pretty clear that 1UP is going through some serious changes. On to this week’s episode, the whole at1UP gang (past and present) is in the house and the show starts with talk of Mike and Travis contributing to a Kirby quilt project. Then it is on to a call-in from Shirk Week’s on Matt Shirk. Alan has a few problems with Costume Quest, Travis defends Castlevania,...

This week’s cast starts with a follow-up to last weeks special podcast and then moves on to Capcom’s announcement of Professor Layton vs. Phoenix Wright for 3DS. Details surrounding the game are still scarce, but the idea strikes the crew as a concession to the fan community for the lack of these character in other Capcom vs. games. Travis and Jade have been digging into Fallout New Vegas, and they share a few thoughts about their initial time with it. Mike shares some frustrations about the new Unreal Engine powered Lucha Libre and...

It’s an extra long show this week and the talk starts with the regular crew touching on the lengthy process of getting the new (quite nice) 1UP.com relaunched. They also address some of the community concerns surrounding the new design and even touch on some of the issues surrounding the loss of Scott Sharkey. It Nintober, as the crew call it, and 1UP has a special retrospective on the top 25 NES games. Travis has been digging into some back catalog titles and talks about his recent time with Arcanum from GoG.com. Jade covers her time at...

If you are looking for a recap of 1UP’s time at PAX, this is the show to catch. The cast starts with Mike, Alice and Justin going over their road trip to PAX experience. The highlights: Mike snores, the Ford Focus is a fine automobile (aside from stock speakers), and rollaway cots aren’t comfortable. The shows starts with another candy tasting, and the two candies at play garner disparate opinions. After some discussion about Matt Leone’s currently in progress “road trip,” Mike mention the double Game Night events happening this week. Alice is filling the fourth chair this week and she talks about the current Xbox 360S contest, of which there will be at least a few more. The show starts with word that Alan is leaving for a community position with TellTale games, so congrats to him on that. He also starts the game talk by addressing some of the responses to his extremely positive Madden 11 review. With not many big game releases, or much notable movie or TV news, the conversation is pretty varied this week. The emails section does produce a well thought-out StarCraft Movie Pitch which the crew seems to approve of. This week is full of comic talk and hypothetic character match-ups, so if you like the episodes where...

After a short hiatus due to Mike’s Vacation and Comic-con craziness, the at1UP group is back. First up this week  is some discussion about the $150 Kinect pricing. No one is too interested in the forthcoming motion control solutions, and the $150 price point makes it even harder for them to get excited. The bulk of time is spent on comic-related topics this week, and rightfully so with Comic-con having just finished. Travis also pops in for a bit and talks about his initial impressions of the StarCraft 2 single player campaign. Jade and Alan...

Mike and Alan kick things off with some complaints about people’s fashion choices. The crew then starts the regular show with a reader email about a poor comic shop experience that pushed him to start buying from DCBS, which Mike also endorses. The DeathSpank Game Night also gets a quick mention. In the ‘Games Dammit” section Alan talks about his issue with NCAA 2011 and Jade talked about her frustration about Amazon’s sluggish delivery of Dragon Quest IX. The conversation then moves on to the topic of scary games and the...

A day late due to the holiday, but a bit of Transformers talk starts the pre-show. After the opening theme Alan addresses the response to the call for MyCheats freelances, and it sounds like most of them were garbage. Kids these days… The crew touches on Red Dead Redemption and Game Night with Crackdown 2, and then moves on to Tournament of Legends, which involves gladiators. He wasn’t able to give it a try due to the Wii’s inability to connect to wifi, but is intent on getting it to work. The crew then moves on to voicemails where...

This week’s show starts with a quick Enemies of Candy segment, and guess what, Alan likes it. The regular show begins with Alan covering some MyCheats stuff and details how to become a cheats freelancer. The guys then get into the news that a key visual representation of Mickey in Epic Mickey has been changed since focus groups weren’t into it. After touching on this week’s NBA Jam 1UP Cover Story and Game Night with Skulls of the Shogun, Mike and Alan recap their time with the new Red Dead Redemption DLC. It sounds like there...

It’s a 3-part frankenstein episode this week. The first two segments consist of a regular episode followed by an extended Toy Story 3 episode. The third segment is a full episode that was recorded during E3. The show starts with some discussion of the big news of E3. This leads into talk of the forthcoming PSN Top Gun game, but quickly moves into a full-on Top Gun discussion. 1UP has launched a new video show, Best Foes Forever, which pits Justin Haywald vs. Ray Barnholt against each other in a multitude of different games. It is light-hearted fare, with ridiculous rules, so check out the first episode featuring Tetris Attack. Alan and Mike had a chance to check out Transformers: War for Cybertron and it sounds like they had a lot of fun with the multiplayer portion of the game. They do take issue with the liberties taken with some of the most beloved characters’ backstories though. The guys also get into a...

A discussion about Dengar, a random bounty hunter from Star Wars, starts the show this week. Talk of the Modern Warfare 2 Game Night leads into an update on everyone’s Red Dead Redemption experiences. Stories of bugs and chance animal encounters set the tone.
