Garnett is joined by Totally Rad Show’s Jeff Cannata and Shacknews’ Brian Leahy who strike a good balance of being entertaining and informative while keeping up the momentum pretty well.  Watcha’ Been Playin fills out the first hour as they over a range of games, including Just Cause 2, God of War 3, Starcraft 2,Final Fantasy XIII and the Playstation Move.  They all seem to bring their own perspective to each game, so even though it’s only three guys, they have a some interesting things to say.

Though they do have a hard time filling out the 4 Minute Warning segments for the first few rounds, before a PSN vs. Xbox Live argument takes them over the time limit; and they close the segment on a long conversation about what modern game designers can learn from old school games.

Brian leads the end of the show with news, hitting on the Nintendo 3DS, his experience with the PSPGo, the Microsoft Game Room and its pricing, and then announcements on Blizzcon 2010, Mafia 2, F3AR and Kindgom Heart’s 3.

Weekend Confirmed isn’t bringing anything revolutionary to the podcast scene, relying on standard segments or old standbys, but Garnett is an experienced host and if you missed the mix of news and commentary from Listen1Up, it looks like it will be a solid replacement.

After what seems like forever the wait is over. Weekend Confirmed debuts today. Anchored by Garnett, Brian, and Jeff Cannata from the Totally Rad Show (and his blog), they waste no time getting down to the business of confirming weekends. There’s months of backlog for Whatcha Been Playin and they make a strong effort digging into it with God of War 3, Battlefield Bad Company 2, Starcraft 2 beta, and a whole lot more. Even before the show’s started the listeners have come through strong with great starters for Four Minute Warning. And in Front Page the 3DS announcements leads off a full slate of news.The feed has been submitted for your subscribing pleasure to iTunes and as soon as it’s live there we’ll have a link here. We should also be live in the Zune marketplace shortly. There’s also the Weekend Confirmed RSS feed which you can use to subscribe in just about any platform you like.

When CastMedium launched one thing we wanted to provide was a place for discussing podcasts.  With the introduction of the forums we hope it makes it just that much easier to participate.  There are some forums in place now and depending on how things evolve, the structure and topics are flexible, so let us know what you think.

Many of you following the happenings at the Game Developer’s Conference this week probably have heard the announcement of the new gaming service/platform OnLive.  It has quickly caught the imagination of the industry while at the same time breeding skepticism.

Today marks the launch of our first sister site OnLiveMedium.com.  The site will cover all relevant news in regards to the OnLive platform and occasionally provide more in-depth analysis pieces.  Like everyone else, we don’t know the fate of OnLive, but whatever it is, you can be sure we will be reporting on it.

Head on over and take a look, it should feel familiar.  There is not a whole lot of content yet, but that will hopefully change soon.

Some of you may have noticed that the site was down for a few hours earlier today.  That is because we have moved to an all new grid-based server system.  If that doesn’t mean anything to you, don’t worry about it.  All you need to know is that the site will load significantly faster and will not be affected by traffic.

As you may or may not have noticed, things are evolving a bit around here.  There have been various ongoing aesthetic changing over the past month and a bit of tidying up.

We have incorporated the ability to listen to and watch the podcasts on each and every post.  From here on out, after clicking through a post you will be presented with an audio player or video player for the selected podcast.  Now you don’t even have to leave the site to have a listen or just give a podcast a preview.

Also, we have joined the Twitter club.  You can find us at twitter.com/castmedium.  Little blurbs about podcast schedules and happenings along with some games and tech industry news and commentary coming at you.

Welcome to the new layout around these parts.  If you have visited before, we hope you like the new layout, if not, welcome!

There are still some problems with formatting in Internet Explorer along with a few other things to be worked out and polished up, but everything should be in great shape soon.

It may just be routine maintenance, but with all that has happened at 1UP within the past week there may be grounds for serious concern over what is to happen with 1UP.  Although one would assume with the buyout by UGO that there would be a message or redirect to the UGO website of some sort in the case of 1UP being shut down, there is sometimes a disconnect between the corporate high-ups and the nitty gritty of day-to-day operations.

We will keep you updated here.
