It’s a new year so Kat Bailey decides to try something a little different for this first Active Time Babble of 2011. The first segment of the show is a solo affair with Kat talking about some games she thinks might not get alot of attention. Kingdom Hearts Re:coded and Super Robot Taisen Z2 are the games for this first go round, she also fielded questions from twitter regarding the games so this segment is mostly Kat answering said questions. The idea behind this part of the show is solid and Kat handles it well.
Kat is joined by Thierry “Scooter” Nguyen and Justin Haywald for the rest of the show, this time to discuss the RPGs of 2011. It’s a big year for RPG sequels this year with new Elder Scrolls, Deus Ex, Mass Effect and of course the biggest MMO of the year most likely being The Old Republic. The crew spend alot of the time speculating on the success of the various games, especially The Old Republic which more than any other MMO to come out recently seems to be going for WoW numbers. Something Kat doubts it will be able to achieve and doesn’t think it should even try.
Scooter and Justin join Kat for a 2011 RPG Preview in the first Active Time Babble of the New Year, where they discuss Elder Scrolls: Skyrim, The Old Republic the general lack of Square Enix RPGs and Pokemon musks. Also, Kat bravely goes solo and takes questions while discussing Kingdom Hearts Recoded and the newly-announced Super Robot Taisen Z2. Will she be successful, or did she disastrously split the party?
