The cast starts out with some stories from Germany as Daemon shares his experiences at and around Gamescom. Though extra-curricular activities occupy a good deal of the conversation, they bring it back around to what was great about the con itself. BioShock Infinite appears to have been the real gem, with a demo that seemed too good to be true.
After briefly discussing live action trailers for video games, Mafia II gets a look. The group sees this game pretty clearly as good, but not amazing (less enthusiastic than some other sites and reviewers).
The mediocre review train’s next stop is Shank; the hosts seem to enjoy it a good deal, but that style of game can wear thin and doesn’t appear to keep their attention. We’re then reminded just how great DeathSpank, Limbo, and Lara Croft have been this summer.
DeathSpank: Thongs of Virtue gets a look as more of what made the first one great: more ranged weapons, more towns and environments, and more thongs. Daemon talks about a few games he played while traveling, including Dodonpachi Resurrection, and Kristine goes over some of the basics of Costume Quest.
The show wraps up with Knockin’ Boots, listener mail, and the hosts’ plans for PAX.
