Gamers with Jobs returns to normal after their huge 200th episode bonanza and welcomes CastMedium’s own Jonathan Downin as well. They kick things off by talking about Lara Croft and the Guardian of Light, which they were all quite impressed with. Conversation transitions to some general thoughts on $15 games on Xbox Live Arcade, namely that the quality of many recent games (especially Summer of Arcade offerings) more than deserves their increased price point.
Julian and Jonathan dive into a couple iPad games, Kelti’s Oracle and Nova, before Cory closes out the segment with Chrono Trigger. The topic of this week is “conventioneering”, which basically covers some of the conduct and process involved in attending a game convention. They discuss the clothing you should wear, bags you should tote, and how to choose panels to attend.
Listener mail comes up next, as always. The guys discuss iPad comic apps, old movies that would be great as games, and DSi XL vs 3DS. The show closes out with an… enlightening look at GWJ’s theme music past.
Note: Gamers with Jobs is produced by Jonathan Downin, Founder and Head Writer of CastMedium.
This week Shawn, Julian, Cory and Jonathan talk about surviving conventions. Cory also gripes about his needs. He is met with stony silence.
