Following on from Gamers With Jobs hitting its 200th episode it’s Player One’s turn this week and it’s a much longer show than usual as a result. The guys kick off as usual by talking about the games they’ve been playing,kicking off with a staple of Player One. That being games you won’t hear about on other podcasts, this one being Ys Seven, although Phil actually spends more time describing the contents of the collectors edition he purchased than the game itself.
Lara Croft and the Guardian of Light capped off the Summer of Arcade on XBLA last week and everyone but Phil downloaded the demo to give it a try. Although none of them actually bought the full game they all have nothing but praise for the game, Sewart comments that it’s a very well made game, with tight controls and lots of fun gameplay mechanics. CJ talks about Monday Night Combat some more, confessing that he actually rage quit while playing with some listeners and went to play Hydro Thunder Hurricane instead.
The last game discussed this week is the the new iPhone release Monster Dash. Coming from the guys who made Fruit Ninja it’s no real surprise that it’s pretty addictive and much like Canabalt and games of it ilk the drive to get a better score is very compelling.
