Active Time Babble host and freelancer Kat Bailey guests this week, hosted by Shoe, Demian, and Brett.
First up, they choose their desert-island games from fall’s lineup. This is an excuse to talk about upcoming games like, Civilization 5, Fallout: New Vegas, Rock Band 3, and Halo Reach.
Speaking of Halo Reach, Shoe’s almost as excited for that as he would be for a Splinter Cell: Pandora Tomorrow remake. He tries to enthuse his mostly unenthusiastic guests and reads some responses to his tweet for opinions on Bungie’s last Halo game.
Perhaps a downloadable Halo would refresh the series. Next, they discuss those snack-sized downloads that intersperse major releases. Most recently, Lara Croft: The Guardian of Light has shook-up the Tomb Raider franchise, and they suggest some other series that could use this treatment.
The community question this week asks them to compare the Xbox Live Indie Games and Android Market distribution methods. Which service would they release their game on?
Half a decade in, Kat asks what’s so great about this generation of consoles. While indies have found a place to release console games, lots of major releases are stale, and big publishers profiteer off DLC.
Covered topics: Civilization 5, Fallout: New Vegas, Rock Band 3, Halo Reach, mini instalments of major franchises, Xbox Live Indie Games vs Android, talkin’ ’bout this generation.
Freelance journalist and Active Time Babble co-host Kat Bailey joins Bitmob’s Demian Linn, Dan Hsu, and Brett Bates on this week’s episode of the Mobcast.
The group discusses Halo: Reach, the benefits of bite-sized releases, which platform is best for indie development, how the current extra-long console cycle is going, and which of the fall’s as-yet-unreleased titles they would play if they could only have one more game until New Year’s Day.
