Myriam Joire joins the Engadget Podcast this week, delivering some Engadget Mobile goodness early in the show with her glowing impressions of the Sprint Epic 4G. The guys aren’t completely convinced by Myriam’s claim that the Epic is probably better than the EVO 4G but agree with her assertion that the Epic might set a new standard for the baseline offerings of an Android phone.
In other mobile news, the crew briefly hits on Josh’s dreamphone, the Motorola Charm. While the idea of the Charm running the Moto Blur Android UI skin isn’t too appealing, the phone is clearly very attractive and appears to have a great portrait-style keyboard with domed keys. Nokia has made yet another half-hearted jab at the mainstream mobile space by offering the Macbook Pro-styled Nokia N9 which will likely be held back by the MeeGo operating system.
The guys wrap up mobile coverage by talking about Xbox Live on Windows Phone 7 and the possibility of a PSP Android phone, then spend most of the remainder of the show talking about Canon and Nikon’s new cameras. Nikon seems to be the winner of the two, announcing the D3100 DSLR (the first to offer continuous autofocus and 1080p recording) and the Coolpix S1100PJ (which boasts a USB-compatible video projector).
