This week’s Gamers with Jobs is essentially a continuation of last week’s 200th episode, starting off as usual with games the guys have been playing. It’ll come to no GWJ fan’s surprise that Rob has been playing League of Legends and the rest of the guys have been playing more Starcraft II, the latter of which the guys briefly hit on once again. The first new game the guys discuss is the Mafia 2 demo, which Sands praises for solid controls and a seemingly engaging story. Shawn also talks about how impressive the game looks and feels on PC with respect to the console versions.
The first segment wraps up with a few small games, including Scott Pilgrim vs The World on XBLA, Chopper 2 for iPhone, and Zen Pinball for PSN. The guys move on to talk about the Bioshock Infinite announcement from last week, which is initially dominated by debate about the somewhat puzzling title. The second half of Julian’s interview with Ken Levine wraps up Infinite talk, where they discuss the lack of science in Bioshock, the contextual history of the franchise, and the scope of the experience.
The second half of the show is devoted to some introspection about the kind of sick minds that’d podcast for almost four years and of course, listener mail. The show wraps up with a Starcraft II spoiler section that runs after the credits.
Note: Gamers with Jobs is produced by Jonathan Downin, Founder and Head Writer of CastMedium.
This week Shawn, Elysium, Cory, Julian and Rob look back on 200 episodes! We also run part 2 of our interview with Ken Levine about Bioshock Infinite.
