Game Scoop! Podcast: BioShocker

by Jon Cole in GamesAugust 14th, 2010 @ 5:59 pm
Game Scoop!

Game Scoop! kicks off with a bit of excitement about Bioshock Infinite, quickly proceeding into the monthly NPD numbers. The most notable news is the reemergence of the Xbox 360 as best-selling console, beating out both the Nintendo Wii and Nintendo DS for the first time in about three years. On the software side, NCAA Football took the top two spots with Crackdown 2 following them up. Arc Rise Fantasia also managed to squeeze in, giving Anthony a chance to talk about his score (6.5), praise the battle system, and promote it as a serious JRPG on the Wii.

Xbox Live Arcade is pretty big this month, with the release of Monday Night Football this week impressing the whole crew. The impending releases of Lara Croft and Scott Pilgrim are also quite promising, with Daemon having played the former and recommending it wholeheartedly. He does, however, caution gamers who prefer playing on their PS3′s to wait for that release of Guardian of Light considering the Xbox 360 version will not have online co-op until it releases on other platforms.

The show closes out with Knockin’ Boots and listener mail, as always.

Covered games and topics: Bioshock Infinite, NPD (NCAA Football 2011, Madden 2011, Crackdown 2, Lego Harry Potter), Arc Rise Fantasia, Monday Night Combat, Lara Croft and the Guardian of Light, Scott Pilgrim vs. The World, Rage, Knockin’ Boots, listener mail
