In other real-time strategy news, Anthony has played the Company of Heroes Online beta. It’s a free version of the original PC strategy game, with added leveling and purchasable units. He’s also got his hands on Arc Rise Fantasia — a clichéd but charming Japanese role-playing game for the Wii.
Arthur’s been playing PSP Mini, Arctic Adventures — a puzzle game about sliding blocks of ice. He’s seen an early build of Battle vs Chess for the DS. It adds hack-and-slash action, rhythm, and “Bomberman-like” ideas to the stylized chess game. He reports on Two Worlds II and Kane and Lynch 2 before starting a discussion on console versions of board games.
