After the usual opening 5 minutes of tangents, mostly related to last weeks Phil and CJ-less show, it’s onto game talk. Well almost, as CJ and Greg Sewart discuss Playstaion Plus which they both subscribed too. They both seem pleased with the service, while the understand the subscription nature makes the “free” games a bit of an off prospect they think they’re getting good value for the money. On the subject of value the discussion moves to the announcent of Kinect’s pricing which has instantly meant no one of the POP crew will be buying it when it launches, while Sewart and CJ may be convinced by the much lower priced Move.
Limbo‘s pricing is a source of contension among the guys, CJ isn’t too bothered by it as he has accepted 1200 points at the default price for most games on XBLA, Sewart and Phil however don’t think that’s an acceptable price for the length of the game. With the game itself Phil isn’t too keen on the trial and error nature of the gameplay, which Sewart quickly calls him on citing his love of Megaman 9, a game wrought with this type of gameplay.
After some talk about Destination Arcade, which no one quite understands, the discussion moves onto Hydro Thunder: Hurricane. Any long time listener to Player One knows that CJ is a pretty huge Hydro Thunder fan, having spent many hours during his time at EGM playing the arcade machine they had in the office. So it’s no surprise he has the most to say about this particularly release, he seems pretty impressed. It would seem to have captured the feeling of the old game in terms of speed and track design, it certainly sounds like he is having alot of fun progressing through the game.
This week! The whole crew’s back together again to talk games and stuff. Including: Hydro Thunder Hurricane, LIMBO, Helsing’s Fire, plus Kinect pricing, PlayStation Plus, Destination Arcade and lots more.
