StarCraft 2 starts the cast this week, but we are not exactly the best group to be talking about it. Valve’s Alien Storm is an interesting release, and there really is no reason not to check it out since it is free on Steam– really, fire up Steam, just like Valve wants you to.
Official pricing for Kinect has been confirmed at $150. This a bit higher than many would have liked, but the $299 bundle seems to be just right. Also Street Fighter vs.Tekken and Tekken vs. Street Fighter have been confirmed. We are light on tech topics this week, but make sure you check out Firefox’s Tab Candy project.
Jon touches on Armond White’s appearance on the latest /Filmcast to finish the show.
Covered topics and games: StarCraft 2, Alien Swarm, $150 Kinect & bundles, Street Fighter vs. Tekken, Firefox Tab Candy, Armond White on /Filmcast
Runtime – 34:22

Nice quick show this week guys; I missed the Starcraft boat and have a crappy laptop too but looking forward to the Giantbomb and general podcast coverage of it. Blizzard releases are spectacle events, even if you never play the games… Out of curiousity did you guys or any commentators here ever get into WoW?
I played through to level 37 and then lost interest, but my brother took over my account and proceeded to log 150+ days on the account over the years. During that time I spent a fair amount of time watching him play too, so I have a pretty good familiarity with it.
I too missed the Starcraft bandwagon. I did attempt to enjoy it, but I think some RTS' get a little too hardcore for my tastes.
I haven't touched Starcraft in at least a decade, but the characters and story stuck with me much more than the gameplay. I don't think it's too hardcore in its mechanics as a game, but it's the crowd around it; which I'd much rather avoid.
I'm definitely getting a little swept up in the excitement around the launch right now, and if I didn't have the crappy laptop, I would have bought it already. I think I will eventually get it, but it's going to be one where I put it on easy and just try to enjoy the storyline…and never touch the online play except to comp-stomp with a friend.
Thanks for the spacebucks on amazon tip. You save $3.46 on a $20 card. Here's the link: http://www.amazon.com/Xbox-360-Live-1600-Points/d…
I prolly should have countered Chris's reply to my comment but I don't wanna be one of the bad guys on the internet. The reason I posted what I did is because I don't really like to listen to people talk about stuff they don't like, I prefer to listen to people who are excited about things, and he spent a lot of time at the beginning of his show halfheartedly bagging on a decent game and I found it to be boring and dispiriting..
Personally, I found a lot of flaws in AC2, so I enjoyed Chris's commments and rambling on it (this does not necesarily reflect well on me, I realize), however, you're right that it wasn't one of his better rants. And, yeah, it's a lot more fun to hear all of those guys talk about things they like (random and obscure as they may be), than complaining about one particular part of game.
Regardless, we appreciate that you stepped back on it, and thank you for helping us keep the comments civilized(ish).
Also, do you like how Amazon limits you to just one card at a time? Clearly, they know they're losing on that one.
