Greg Sewart kicks off this weeks show by talking about his newest purchase of a Xbox 360 S, stories of file transfering and downloads follow. He and the other guys are miffed about the upcoming Destination Arcade app on Xbox Live, Greg and anyone outside the US won’t even have access to it because it is restricted to US only. On top of that it will only be available for the duration of Summer of Arcade. This leads to the crew discussing which of the games in the promotion they will be getting. CJ plans to get them all, which is no great shock, Phil and Greg only plan to get a couple but will of course try the demos of the others too.
Some other news discussed is the cancellation of 1 vs 100, which all of the hosts are disappointed about. While they understand why Microsoft decided to pull the plug they think the concept of 1 vs 100 and primetime is a great one. And they hope to see it return in some fashion. As it often does this leads onto a broader talk about Xbox Live in general and how bogged down it has gradually gotten since the launch of the NXE. After some voicemails.
Crackdown 2 starts the what you been playing segment, with Phil being pretty much the lone voice here. All three of the guys have however been playing Deathspank, Phil and Greg seem mostly interested in it because of Ron Gilberts involvement. They are really enjoying the Diablo-esque gameplay coupled with Monkey Island style humour, even CJ who isn’t that big a fan of Monkey Island. Tweets and a voicemail round out the show.
This week! We talk about the game tapes we played this week, which includes Dragon Quest IX, Death Spank, Crackdown 2, Summer of Arcade, 1 vs. 100, Mega Man Universe, Taiko no Tatsujin and oh so much more.
