Giant Bombcast 07-06-2010

Giant Bombcast

The guys are in the new Whiskey Media offices and one of the first things they did was set up the podcasting equipment– such dedication. They spend the first few minutes talking about the new digs before Jeff jumps into talking about Crackdown 2. The guys don’t have too many great things to say about the game, but they certainly don’t think it is awful either.

Vinny talks a bit about getting around having to buy Microsoft’s overpriced Xbox 360 wireless adapter though some inventive wireless networking, and then Jeff gets into Singularity. He has a lot of good things to say about the game, and it sounds like a solid original IP out of Raven. Brad gets into his experience with Puzzle Quest 2, and while Jeff wasn’t feeling it quite as much, he liked it.

News, including some details on Hulu Plus, leads into releases with another great round of press description reading from Jeff. Emails finish the show.

Covered games and topics: New office, Crackdown 2, Vinny’s wireless networking, fireworks, Singularity, Puzzle Quest 2, LEGO: Harry Potter, news, Hulue Plus, releases, emails

We return from celebrating America’s Birthday with all our fingers and toes miraculously intact to christen Giant Bomb’s new San Francisco offices with plenty of hot, sweaty talk about Crackdown 2, Singularity, illegal fireworks, and more!

Runtime – 2:22:22

Why do these guys insist on wasting my time in every podcast? Do I really need to hear them shuffling chairs around before they get started? Try editing out all the chaff and maybe you'll have a tight hour-long podcast everybody can enjoy instead of just your friends and relatives.

As Brian said I think many who love this podcast would argue that the "wasting time" parts of the show are what make it such great fun to listen to. These guys have been working together for a long time and as such they play off each other extremely well. The Bomb Cast is pretty consistently one of the funniest podcasts I listen to as a result.

  2. lol, I've been listening to these guy since the early HotSpot, I've gotten to know these guys. Whether its drinking crazy energy drinks, eating foreign candy, talkin about hip-hop, wrestling, crappy video games and even moving chairs…it's what makes it the best podcast.
