Despite their ambitions, the Joystiq boys weren’t able to record any E3 podcasts while at the convention, so they are back this week to go over some of their highlights from the show. Kinect didn’t do it for them, and besides some positive impressions about Child of Eden, they are pretty down on it. The new Xbox 360 Slim also doesn’t receive much love, except from Luddy, who is the only one who actually has one of the new consoles.
Sony doesn’t fair much better with Justin in particular laying the hate on the Playstation Move. Twisted Metal also receives a luke-warm reception with the guys feeling like the time of car combat games has long-since passed.
Nintendo is the big winner with the 3DS, despite general apathy about the new Zelda. In emails, Justin and crew dig into the motivation for switching to a star-based ratings system on Joystiq, and while pretty boilerplate, it makes sense.
Covered games and topics: Kinect event, Microsoft, Xbox 360 Slim, Sony, Steam on PS3, Playstation Plus, Twisted Metal, Little Big Planet 2, Heroes on the Move, Medal of Honor, Dead Space 2, Nintendo, Zelda, 3DS, emails, reviews policy
OK, OK smart guy, we get it. E3′s been over for a week and you haven’t heard so much as a peep from us. We all made some mistakes. But if you think about it, aren’t you, the listener, as much to blame, in a sense? … No? Well, it was worth a shot.
If you still care what we think (or if you want to hear a lengthy explanation of our new review scoring system), you’re in for a treat. Special thanks to Alan Black for his photoshop sequel, 11 years in the making.
