Sean Sands from Gamers with Jobs makes his biyearly pilgrimage to the DGR studios this week, starting things off with Drunk Dials as usual. Listener mail reawakens Moe’s John’s undying love for Jeremy Parish, praises the new Mailbag theme, and dives into the wonders of 3D gaming.
Hilden gives his impressions of Gundemonium, a shmup collection available on PSN. The games certainly aren’t for people who just want to dip their feet into shmups, due to the fact that they’re all pattern-based bullethell games. Ultimately, they recommend most highly the “up-downly” offering of the bunch, Hitogata Happa. Next up is “Grand Theft Auto for kids”, better known as Toy Story 3. The toybox mode presents a huge overworld similar to Rockstar’s previous games, except with more kid-friendly, smaller chunks of gameplay per mission. Toy Story 3 earns DGR’s “highly recommended” moniker simply due its open world mode, without even taking the half-hearted story mode into account.
Five Things is dropped off this week’s show to give a little more time to E3 conversation, which certainly deserves it due to the one hour length of the segment. They hit on all the topics you would expect, going in the order of each of the major conferences by the big three. Ultimately, Microsoft and Kinect seem to get dismissed in favor of Nintendo, who earned a heap of braise from the DGR crew. The show closes out as always with The Last Shot.

You gave Moe the credit for the Jeremy Parish love? I am outraged, sir! For it is I, John, who has the eternal torch flaming in my heart for Mr. Parish. A torch which fortunately cannot be snuffed or even dimmed by such an egregious error!
[Jeremy, if you're reading this: feel free to add this comment to your pile of exhibits for your restraining order.]
I'll fix this fatal error posthaste and send a strongly worded letter to Jeremy Parish making sure he understands the truth behind all of this.
Parish is definitely the most loveable dork in podcastland after Andritch. Always a fun show guys. Fluffynuts's calls are automatic classics and weird cat guy/air conditioner girl were great. Sean Sands is especially funny on your show, more please
