Every so often, the Gamers with Jobs get together for Rabbitcon, a meetup designed to facilitate the eating of many ribs and the playing of many games. As is custom, they take advantage of this strange physical contact to play a lot more board games than usual, which incidentally opens up this week’s podcast. The most talked about game seems to be an adaptation of Battlestar Galactica, though they talk about quite a few other ones along the way including an Old West-style scenario and D&D 4th edition.
Rabbit finally finished building his MAME cabinet, which begs a little love of Rampart, The Simpsons, and Time Pilot. A surprisingly unpopular item was the iPad, which hasn’t really sold everyone yet, especially with respect to local multiplayer board games on the device.
The show closes out with some listener questions, which tend to revolve around E3 predictions. The big question of the hour is whether or not Natal and Playstation Move will be successful, which doesn’t particularly inspire a lot of enthusiasm from anyone.
This week we go nuts with our live show from rabbitcon with lots of board game talk, hands-on MAME time and some questions from the audience.
