Red Dead Redemption starts the show. Xav is enjoying it, but he has a few quibbles with the sometimes too open environments and minor graphical issues. Griffin has been playing it as well and he shares about the fun he has been having with the multiplayer. Dave talks a bit about the explosion-filled Split Second and the the group gets into some more Alan Wake love.
GameStop’s new DLC program kicks-off the news and Ludwig is somewhat confused since he has never actually stepped foot in the store. Assassin’s Creed Brotherhood has Xav scratching his head as to why it exists, and the use of the Tom Clancy name has about the same affect. Fable III is now official for PC and a nice CE is on the way.

Nothing hurts the Joystiq Podcast more than the absence of the utterly charming Justin McElroy, and the lack of the perfectly tolerable Chris Grant threatens to destroy the show completely. But rather than take a leisurely hiatus, Ludwig, Xav (and sometimes Griffin and David) discuss a hectic week in games: Alan Wake, Split/Second, Red Dead Redemption and … some things that got cut. This is by far the most organized, logical and edited episode in the show’s history — which means it’s probably the worst one yet. Oh well!
