Last weeks episode is now a “lost” episode with it being declared too bad to publish. Things are back to normal though with the show getting derailed before the introdcutions are even finished. CJ makes mention of a Mega Man MMO that may be in the works, leading to a short discussion about why the guys just aren’t likley to play an MMO of any kind.
The game discussion this week is dominated by 3D Dot Game Heroes, which all 3 hosts have been playing this week. The game allows you to create a custom character in the pixelart style, Phil has been downloading other peoples creations to use including a Solid Snake in a box.The guys are impressed by all the little touches like a somewhat secret bestiary and the fact you can respawn bosses to fight them again.
The new Ninjatown game for iPhone/iPod Touch, Trees of Doom, gets some time, the guys are having fun with it in fact Sewart even gets a high score during the show. The release of Steam for Mac is briefly discussed before the show rounds out with a discussion about western games sparked by a user tweet.
This week! We spend the majority of the podcast talking about the past week’s big PlayStation 3 release, Atlus’ excellent retro-style action-RPG 3D Dot Game Heroes. But also: Picross 3D, Ninjatown: Trees of Doom, Vector Rally, Steam for Mac and responding to a tweet on our favorite western-themed games in honor of this week’s release of Red Dead Redemption.
