There is a distinct lack of retro news and releases lately so this weeks episode opens with some lamenting of that fact. The guys briefly talk about what little news there is, including Earthworm Jim on DSi, Game Rooms latest releases and Steam on Mac bringing Lucasarts adventure games with it.
The first of two main segments has Frank Cifaldi going over a feature he’s been running on 1UP, reporting on the new from 20 years ago. The segment is mostly taken up by Frank going over the events followed by some brief discussion and often contension about what actually transpired.
The second segment this week is all about Virtual Boy, partly inspired by the upcoming reveal of the Nintendo 3DS. Again this is an odd segment with not too much discussion for the most part but more presenting/arguing facts. Still, an interesting insight into one of Nintendos biggest failures.
Jeremy Parish, Ray Barnholt, Frank Cifaldi, and Chris Kohler discuss news of old things, contemplate the mysteries of spring 1990, question the parallels between Virtual Boy and 3DS, and make entirely too many dumb jokes. You know you love it.
