Game Scoop! Podcast, Episode 162

This week’s Game Scoop! starts off with impressions of some recently released games, namely Alan Wake and Lost Planet 2.  The former has garnered a lot of attention from the games press and Daemon says that it’s his second favorite game of the year thus far, after Mass Effect 2.  Lost Planet 2, unfortunately, hasn’t enjoyed similar praises; Arthur Gies’s review of the game was hardly complementary, saying that it improves on the graphics but doesn’t learn many other lessons from the mistakes of the first game.

Knockin’ Boots hits on some critical issues this week, first off asking what to do when the person you’re with has a completely compatible personality but comes up a little short on the Knockin’ Boots department.  Next up is a little exploration of the “80-20 Rule”, which you’d have to listen to the podcast to understand.  The segment wraps up with a listener’s question asking about the age-old mistake of “converting” a potential boyfriend/girlfriend to like what you do.

Listener mail closes out Game Scoop! as per usual, exploring the origins of “getting panda” and fretting the fall of split-screen games.

Covered games and topics:  Alan Wake, Lost Planet 2, Iron Man 2, Wii Party, Call of Duty: The War Collection, Activision/Infinity Ward, split-screen gaming

Welcome back to Game Scoop!, your weekly dose of gaming news and massive LOLZ. Your shepherds this week will be Daemon Hatfield, Greg Miller, Craig Harris, and newcomer Ty Root. You may not recognize Ty’s voice, but you’ve definitely seen his work: he’s the producer of The Daily Fix and Game Scoop! TV.

Not a ton of news this week, but we’ve got a bunch of reviews to discuss like Alan Wake, Lost Planet 2, and Iron Man 2. Nintendo has unveiled Wii Party. Is that anything like a Sausage Fest? Retailers are listing Call of Duty: The War Collection for Xbox 360. We’ve got a code for a free copy of Monsters (Probably) Stole My Princess. Act fast and it can be yours.

Boots will be knocked: What to do with a girlfriend who isn’t very adventurous in the bedroom?

Plus we answer a bunch of listener mail about game previews, industry analysts, and getting panda. Don’t forget, we’re available on iTunes. Remember to rate the show while you’re there.
