It’s clearly to many that at1UP is the flagship podcast of 1UP.com however what is considered to many as the flagship show, 4 Guys 1UP, is currently in an odd limbo. Jeremy Parish has stepped down as host, Mike and the gang fill us in on the details of what to expect on that feed for the next few weeks. It sounds like there will be alot of testing the waters with 3 distinct hosts and formats.
1UPs game night will feature Halo: Reach this week, the guys briefly hit on their thoughts of the beta so far. Mike also briefly talks about his experience with Miles Edgeworth which he finally finished this week. Jade and Travis take some time to recommend some films they have recently seen that they think others should check out. Travis recommends the Vengeance trilogy, a series of stand-alone movies with revenge as their central theme. Jade has a more obscure and by the sounds of it much harder to track down choice in Sakuran, a film about a japanese prostitute.
The guys fear they are already running out of things they can add to their “Enemies of” series, this week it’s Enemies of Candy, complete with live tastings. The discussion gets a tad nostalgic as everyone reflects on the different confectionary they used to eat as kids. The segment has Matt Leone and Frank Cifaldi join Mike for a very interesting look at some of the newly relaunched magazines including EGM and Gamepro.
After some quick housekeeping notes, the crew talk a little about Halo: Reach and Miles Edgeworth before jumping into a discussion about Chan-Wook Park’s “Vengeance” movies. Circus Peanuts and its nefarious allies are debated upon as Enemies of Candy; and in Final Notes, Arkham Horror and the return of Zombie Action News. Also–contest winners are named!
