The Cat Fancier Podcast starts with another dubious cat-fact before hosts Anthony, Arthur, Tyler, and Matt steer it back towards more familiar territory.
Alan Wake review codes have gone out this week, and the crew talk in detail about its game-design, which sounds as solid as its atmosphere. The Halo: Reach beta also sounds like fun, although Arthur and Anthony had to squint to see any graphical improvement over Halo 3. Arthur doesn’t sound impressed with Lost Planet 2 or Prince of Persia: the Forgotten Sands on Wii. Matt has been playing Kane and Lynch 2, and thinks it “won’t get nearly as panned as the last one did”.
Of the games that are already out, they’ve been playing the Left 4 Dead 2 DLC, the Passing, which references every zombie-related game and movie ever, including Left 4 Dead 1. After playing Wii Fit, Tyler speculates that exercise games could bring about a generation of healthy nerds. Anthony has been playing older games — his favorite, Viva Piñata, and Saints Row 2.
The letters section is only loosely game-related. They talk about one-handed (no, it’s not what you think) games and a single-handed PS2 controller. Relationship- and life-advice closes the show.
Covered topics: Alan Wake, Halo: Reach, Lost Planet 2, Prince of Persia: Forgotten Sands, Kane and Lynch 2: Dog Days, Left 4 Dead 2 DLC
