Before they can confirm your weekend, Garnett, Jeff, Brian, and Billy talk about the games they’ve been playing. Garnett is happy with Super Mario Galaxy 2 and Monster Hunter Tri. Jeff thinks Monster Hunter is antiquated, sluggish, and impenetrable but Brian tells him to go play it co-op.
One of the last this week of many podcast crews to talk about Captivate, they have mixed feelings on Dead Rising. They also saw Marvel vs. Capcom 3, Okamiden, and Sengoku Basara.
In the Cannata-Afford-a-Game segment, the four give cheap game recommendations. Jeff has been playing old Metal Gears, Garnett’s favorite game — Outcast — is now out on Good Old Games, and Brian and Billy talk about some sadly overlooked classics — Metal Arms: Glitch in the System and Harmonix’s Amplitude and Frequency.
In Drunk With Power, they talk competitively about Gran Turismo 5, the viability of handheld games and the iPad, whether or not co-op makes any game better, games being dumbed down, the importance of price, and whether games will ever be viewed as more than a kids’ pursuit.
New releases and this week’s game news finish the show.
Garnett returns from Captivate fired up to confirm the weekend with Brian, Jeff, and Billy. He brings a healthy helping of Capcom to Whatcha Been Playin? with Dead Rising 2 co-op, Okamiden, and Marvel vs. Capcom 3. But that’s in the second part because Super Mario Galaxy 2 and Monster Hunter Tri kick the show off in prime form. In a rematch, the contest format returns for Four Minutes to Get Drunk With Power but this time without the scoring with topics form whether it’s too late for Gran Turismo 5 to the impact of making games easier in the name of accessibility. It all wraps up in the Front Page with news of a Little Big Planet sequel, new TV on your console rumblings, and more

What's happened to 4 Guys 1UP and Jeremy's flagship podcast? Is that finally dead?
I hope not. Whether or not it's called 4 Guys 1UP, they can't really go on without a flagship podcast, can they?
Frankly, I'm pretty surprised that they have let it go this long without something on that feed. Oddcast has been coming out on Fridays, but it is obviously not the kind of show to fill that void.
