This week’s DGR is back to normal as the guys recover from the Midwest Gaming Classic at home in the studio. Drunk Dials and emails open the show as usual, including the usual hilarious call-in from Fluffynuts. With Shmup Month behind us, review also return to normal, with XBL Game Room up first. All three guys seem to agree that although it kind of sucks now, there is promise for the future. Cho Aniki Zero is up next and well, I think this is a game everyone just had to experience for themselves if you’ve never heard of it. Third is Cave Story for WiiWare, which has been getting rave reviews all around and the DGR crew doesn’t seem to disagree. John thinks that although the game is a bit on the expensive side for WiiWare, it is worth it to give the creator his due.
Another double Feature Presentation this week starts off with a lengthy reading of poems sent in for DGR’s Shmup month contest. To be honest, some of them actually impressed me, so it’s worth the listen. The Shmopera also wraps up this week, closing out coverage of Shmup month for 2010. Five Things closes the show out with discussions on the 3DS, larger Xbox360 hard drive, and the ludicrous Game Crush.
