A shorter show this week with only two segments, but a lot is covered and even Andy Reiner bringing his phone to keep him busy doesn’t detract from the excitement this week. God of War 3 is the subject of the first segment and well, apparently that game is good. Although they do mention the sense of scale the game gives you like many reviews focused on, they also take the time to discuss what distinguishes this experience from the previous two. One interesting point that is brought up is the fact that this game finally gives players a reason to use magic and alternate weapons.

The second half of the show focuses on GDC and for a large part, PlayStation Move. The GI staff, unlike many publications, is very optimistic about the Move’s future and think it has the opportunity to one-up the Wii. One of the more interesting facts to come out of GDC about the Move is that the colored ball on top of the controller will be controlled by the developer and changed on the fly. The show closes out with the staff discussing their favorite panels and games from GDC.

Episode 20 of the Game Informer Show features some down and dirty discussion of Sony’s visceral epic God of War III. This PS3 exclusive has a lot to live up to, but GI editors Joe Juba, Andy Reiner, and Jeff Cork feel the game has more than what it takes to match up to the legacy of the first two games in the series. Listen is as they discuss the game’s ridiculously huge set pieces, exciting combat, and one (slightly embarrassing) misstep. The second segment features Matt Bertz, Meagan VanBurkleo, and Nick Ahrens giving us their impression of the recent Game Developers Conference. Features lots of insider information and hands-on impressions of Sony’s PlayStation Move motion controller.

Runtime – 50:14
