After the kerfluffle that took place at IGN earlier in the week, Aurthur Gies makes his IGN debut on Three Red Lights. We don’t know if this is definite sign Arthur taking a more active role on the IGN side of things, but his does name drop Team Xbox several times throughout the episode, so it seem like he may still be primarily there.
The lack of community enthusiasm for the XBLA release of Perfect Darks starts the conversation and this leads into an examination of XBLA on a whole. The PlayStation Move gets some talk and the recent leak of alleged Xbox 360 “Slim” motherboard shots has the guys pondering a console redesign to coincide with the release of Natal this Holiday.
The Dreamcast gets some love and Halo Reach has the group excited. The continuing decline in interest in music games is lamented again and everyone gets their shots in over the announced $15 price point for the Modern Warfare 2 Stimulus Package map pack. Around 30 minutes of emails close out the abrupt end of the show.
Covered games and topics: Perfect Dark, XBLA, PS Move, 360 Slim?, Dreamcast, Halo Reach, music games, MW2 Stimulus Package, emails
A podcast that talks about videogames? Absurd. Things must have gone explicit or something. Join Hilary Goldstein, Erik Brudvig, Daemon Hatfield and newcomer Arthur Gies for a chat about all things Xbox.

I'm a fan of Arthur generally, but it doesn't seem like he'd be a good fit for TRL. I'm really interested to check this episode out.
He actually fit in better than I expected. Though, he didn't seem totally with TRL's horrendous sexual jokes.
I've listened to most of it so far, and yeah, he does better than I would have thought. I guess I'm most surprised that Hilary and the other guys were a lot more accepting of him than I expected. I thought they might try to haze him a little more; but they actually went along with it when he tried to be serious.
And they definitely talked about games more than any other episode. Barely any of them were 360-related, but still.
Anyone else notice the difference in the way they handled a coworker leaving compared to 1Up? Not much fanfare here.
I'm not sure who all got laid off, but I don't think any of them were really audience-facing, at least on podcasts, so more fanfare wouldn't really mean too much for us, right? I've only really heard of Andy Eddy through Arthur, though apparently he's been around forever.
Also, since most of the guys were middle/high-level editors, it's not really the same as when a bunch of younger staffers get cut, where it seems more unfair.
It's definitely unfortunate for anyone to get laid off, but this round doesn't seem like it should be a really public affair. As long as they showed some support to the guys in person, it's probably all right that they didn't make a deal of it on the podcast.
Well, I think the difference is, Chris Roper didn't leave, he was pushed out.
That's not really as much a sexual joke as it is a brutal truth.
