The Oddcast: 03/15/2010

The Oddcast

This weeks show is mostly made up of an assortment of random stories from GDC last week. From games played to Sams failed attempts to lie to a woman demoing a game. There’s some discussion of the Playstation Move, which Sam thinks is interesting although agrees it doesn’t seem to offer too much more than the Wii.

Tina thanks Sharkey for introducing her to alot of indie games through the recession gaming segement as it meant she knew alot of the games on display. This leads to some debate as to what makes an indie game “indie” as Tina questions why PSN game Shatter is on display.

The second half of the show has Chris and Sharkey interviewing Nathan Fouts of Mommy’s Best Games, the developer behind Xbox Community/Indie game Weapon of Choice and recently released Shoot1UP.

GDC has us exhausted, but what would the week be without an Oddcast? So, we wipe the sleep from our eyes, knock back a cup of coffee (maybe a couple) and report for duty. This week, we recollect our favorites from the show floor: what we saw, whom we met and where we got the best finger foods. Plus, we speak with Nathan Fouts, the developer behind Xbox Indies Shoot 1UP and Weapon of Choice.

Runtime – 1:04:32
