It’s a lengthy “last” episode with a full cast of old faces and whole metric ton of topics. The group starts with some discussion about PlayStation Move’s big GDC reveal. The impressions are somewhat muted with a general sense of anticipation about the execution on the software side. In light of GDC and an abundance of development side personalities present, there is a lot of talk about overarching industry trends and the direction that the gaming landscape is heading.
Rumors get highlighted in the middle section with the biggest point being rumblings of an E3 reveal of the DS2 with GameCube-like graphic capabilities. The group also feels like the current state of the PSP also puts Sony in a positions to be introducing it’s handheld successor soon.
As David begins to steer things towards his departure, Garnett “pulls a Garnett” and dismisses the amount of time being spent focusing on the situation and calls for more game talk. It turns out that he knows what he is talking about and we get some great 1UP Yours era discussions about Final Fantasy XIII and God of War 3. David does mention that we can probably expect to see something in the Friday slot from Jeremy Parish, but he also calls this ”The end of what started with 1UP Yours.”
Covered games and topics: PS Move, Metroid, diversification in games, Uncharted lessons, social gaming, DLC and portal, Lara Croft, rumors, Project Natal, DS2/PSP2, David’s goodbye, FFXIII, God of War 3
No more drama. It’s my final (new) 1UP podcast, and I invited a few friends to help me blow this mother out. Former cast mates, Garnett Lee, John Davison, Shane Bettenhausen, Andrew Pfister, and Mark MacDonald join me to talk about the DS2, PlayStation Move, Heavy Rain, God of War III, Final Fantasy XIII, Lara Croft, and more. Also hopping on the mic are N’Gai Croal, Christ Tilton, and Ryan Payton as we talk everything GDC: the rumors, the panels and the games.

Having Garnett back on the show just made me remember how 4 guys 1 up failed to even come close to Listen up. Shane as always is awesome on podcasts and David E. well he wont be missed in podcasts that's for sure.
Speak for yourself. David did a lot of interesting things with 4G1UP and his goals were very different from Garnett's. I'm definitely going to miss him.
I agree with Jon. I liked Ellis, and I enjoyed his show. They had some legitimately good guests on.
But I'm praying (to nothing in particular) that they do not make another weekly news show.
