Alot of this weeks show is taken up with news discussion, interspersed with the usual joking around the Oddcast crew partake in. Six days in Fallujah, the controversial title that Konami decided not to publish, has apparently been finished. The guys discuss how and if the game should be released. Sharkey thinks it depends on how the story is presented and dealt with. The reality of actual warfare is in stark contrast to videogame warfare. The guys discuss how this could an issue when translating a real event to the medium.
The drama at Infinity Ward gets some airtime as one would expect. Concrete details of what actually happened leading up the the studio heads’ dismissal are still few and far between but a few things have come out. It would seem the IW heads were talking to rival publishers, presumably with the intention of splintering off from Activision. This apparently led to people at IW being interrogated, everyone agrees it’s all pretty messed up.
The guys hit a few random indie games to round out the show, including Shoot 1UP which Sharkey says is the best buck you’ll ever spend on a game.

We unofficially renamed this week’s show the “waaah cast.” The apocalyps3 brought out the worst whiners, and Activision creates some drama. Sam rants about PR, Chris thinks “Cowboy” is dead, and Sharkey’s recession game couldn’t be played. Oh, and Tina brings more community WTF comments to the table. Throw your hankies away, you won’t cry too much.

That's what I've been saying for a while – The Oddcast is a very, very underrated podcast. I think it's a great show. (Maybe I'm biased, because I really like Sam.) That's what I mean when I say that I would be disappointed if they tried to somehow morph The Oddcast into the new main 1UP podcast, or even if they took someone like Sam or Sharkey off The Oddcast for a completely new podcast. If it ain't broke, don't fix it: 1UP simply don't need to continue 4 Guys 1UP; they don't need a weekly news show.

Oddcast has it's moments, I actually really like Tina on it, she's got alot of flak in the past but I think she's pretty funny at times.
I think this should probably just be 1UPs news podcast, they already hit the big stories anway and usually get a good discussion going about them. I think if they give (at least the first half) of this show the news to deal with and then maybe bump at1UP up a bit to have a what you been playing segment with more people from around the office I think they'd be set for content podcast wise.
Tina overdoes it a lot and because of that can really get on people's (and my) nerves at times. But it was nice to see that with this IW controversy being something she very serious about, she was able to ground herself and offer up some good insight and commentary on the situation.
Haven't caught it yet and now I am listening to it thanks to your comment. Rate that 'ish– that's what the ratings are for.
I think that the old ratings system was better IMO, please consider going back. I think that the star rating system don't work well with podcasts. Thanks for your work, keep it up!
We are always open to suggestions, and we especially never want to make things less useful. We'll keep this in mind and maybe do a poll to see what people prefer. Thanks for the input!
Oddcast has gotten good, much better then At1up nowadays..
I agree the old one was better especially for podcasts. You guys know Mike Cruz right, tell him to step it up cause now 1up's worst podcast is his, depending on what happens to 4 guys 1 up.
Has Garnett Lee mentioned a new podcast for him to host?
Noted. Well, opinions obviously differ on at1UP. On the Garnett podcast front, he has given some tidbits on his twitter regarding equipment and stuff. I would expect something from him within March.
Correction: Garnett's podcast will launch after Gran Turismo 5 hits. So that's like… 2013?
