David Ellis has announced that he will be leaving 1UP after over 2 years at the outlet. He will be moving on to Microsoft’s Halo team, 343 Industries. In his departing 1UP blog, he states that he will be part of the Halo Waypoint team. Halo Waypoint is an interactive Halo franchise front-end for Xbox Live that was launched late last year to track individual stats and achievements across games in the franchise.
Ellis’s stint as the front man of 1UP’s flagship podcast, 4 Guys 1UP, was short lived. He mentions that he will not be going away immediately and to expect to hear a bit more from him through GDC. With his departure, 1UP may again be in the difficult position of maintaining the popularity of 4 Guys 1UP’s predecessors, 1UP Yours and Listen UP.
We wish David the best and look forward to his work on the development side.

Another new podcast name? 1up and Away!
I'll miss seeing/hearing David around. I always enjoyed him on The 1UP Show/Co-op and the idea behind 4Guys 1UP was great. When they actually managed to stick to the proposed format for the show I thought it was great and a nice change up from the usual stuff every other site is putting out.
Honestly I think 1UP should just forget about having a flagship show at this point. There's no one left there that I think could realistically front a show. Sadly I can see them trying again with yet another new show but with the pool of people they have no I don't see if being very successful or interesting.
