In a continuation of last week’s lineup of comedians to appear in the Cross Platform Comedy show, Sheila Bryson and Dave Karraker join Dan and Demian for this week’s Mobcast. Fortunately, these two guests bring some more industry rep than the other half of their crew, both working for several gaming PR companies including Crystal Dynamics and Sony. Shoe takes this fact and runs with it, asking each of the crew about their first experience in the gaming industry, which range from Skinemax-caliber PC games to 3DO platformers.
After the break, two topics show off some of the best aspects of the Mobcast as a podcast concept, considering it allows game industry veterans to tell great stories from their personal experiences. The first of these two is the community topic, which asks what games or events act as touchstones to being a “true” gamer, leading Shoe to talk about some of the… unqualified people he interviewed for jobs at EGM. Next up is Dave’s topic, which capitalizes on his industry veteran status and asks for stories about interesting console launches.
The podcast wraps up with everyone’s impressions of the Nintendo Games Summit and some words on seeing Sheila and Dave’s comedy show in San Francisco.
