In the first segment, Matt, Joe, and Phil discuss the new downloadable game P.B. Winterbottom, which Joe wrote a review for. All three guys seem to enjoy it, although Phil and Matt have only played about an hour or so. Joe mentions the obvious comparisons being drawn between this game and Braid, but says he feels P.B. Winterbottom to be an easier game and tip-toes around saying it is less pretentious.

The second segment is focused on Alien vs. Predator, which has brought a lot of controversy to GI after Ben Reeves’ low score in his review. Ben talks about how short each of the 3 campaigns in the game is and he along with Andrew Reiner say that one of the biggest issues the game has is very dumb AI. They seem to agree that there are some good points to the game, but the game just wasn’t developed well enough to be enjoyable all the way through.

The third segment is a wrap-up of Microsoft’s X10 event from last week. Tim Turi starts off discussing his time with Alan Wake, which he says is looking to be the creepiest game of the year. Dan Ryckert talks about Fable III and some of the interesting mechanics Peter Molyneux is hoping to implement. They run through some of the other smaller games to close things out.

This week’s Game Informer show kicks off with some discussion of a title that’s sure to be on many people’s year-end lists, The Odd Gentleman’s The Misadventures of P.B. Winterbottom. This XBLA and PC downloadable title combines elements of 2D platforming with cool time manipulation and cloning elements to create a truly unique experience. Host Matt Helgeson, Joe Juba, and Phil Kollar all stop by to discuss their feelings about the game. The second segment centers around the relaunch of Aliens vs. Predator. In this segment we have a debate featuring Andy Reiner and Ben Reeves, who wrote GI’s controversial review of the game. We wrap things up with some scuttlebutt from Microsoft’s X10 press even. Tim Turi and Dan Ryckert, who both attended the conference, give us some hands-on impressions of some of blockbuster titles, including Fable 3, Dead Rising 2, Alan Wake, and DLC for Left 4 Dead 2.
