Karen and Mike may be out of town, but Roadie Brock is more than enough to fill both their shoes for this testosterone-laden Geekbox. Right off the bat, the guys talk about the latest episode of Lost (What Kate Does), so look out for spoilers from 2:20 – 16:50. Staying in the TV vein, Burn Notice continues to be entertaining though might have some bromantic undertones that make Fitch a little bit uncomfortable. Again, if you’re wary of spoilers, skip 17:00 – 21:00.
Games talk is unsurprisingly capitalized by World of Warcraft, with Ryan a little upset with Higgins for switching the servers of one of his characters. Ryan also brings up a little recent news that Activision released, stating that they’re seeing a pretty consistent 11.5 million subscribers. With Fitch’s history in news, he recalls that Blizzard has never been specific with their numbers as far as market-specific subscription rates go, much to his chagrin.
The podcast closes out with the discussion of spoilers and their relation to enjoyment of the consumption of media, with Fitch making the strong statement that he’s not interested in any media whose ending might have been spoiled for him. Unfortunately, all of the show members feel it appropriate to spoil various movies in the final moments of the show, so stop listening at 1:04:00 if you want to skip spoilers for Orphan, The Happening, The Village, and The Usual Suspects.
Wherein we discuss Lost 6×03, Burn Notice 3×13, World of Warcraft server transfers, competitive games, Stadium Events, Kotaku’s recent HDTV penetration survey, watching the Super Bowl for the commercials, and movie spoilers (and staying unspoiled). Starring Ryan Scott, Andrew Fitch, Ryan Higgins, and Brock Sager.
