4 Guys 1UP

It is an all X10 show this week and Garnett Lee stops by his old stomping ground to discuss some of the games that were on-hand at the event. Fable III, Halo Reach and Crackdown are the big games this week with interviews the their respective developers before the guys dig into their own impressions.

Peter Molyneux is as enthusiastic as ever about Fable III and he addresses his “people will be pissed-off” comment. Bungie seems to be focusing on the technical improvements of Halo Reach with a lot of their commentary and recently released ViDoc. The Crackdown 2 interview runs almost 40 minutes and there is a lot of insight into what Ruffian is trying to do with this follow-up to their 2007 surprise hit.

Impressions of Alan Wake, Dead Rising 2 and Splinter Cell are a bit more muted, but the guys touch on them as well well at the end of the show. David shares that the reason for the X10 show this year was to have an event that focused on games so that Project Natal could be the focus of Microsoft’s E3 presence in June.

Covered games and topics: Fable III, Halo Reach, Crackdown 2, Dead Rising 2, Alan Wake, Splinter Cell

With Microsoft inviting a whopping mass of devs and press alike into town this week, we thought it would be the perfect opportunity to invite an old friend on to break down all the happenings. It also turned out to be a great chance to make some new friends by chatting up some the biggest names in game development. We chat with Peter Molyneux about his ongoing ambitions in game design, Bungie’s Brian Jarrard and Marcus Lehto give us a tiny peak behind Halo Reach’s curtain; and Peter, James, and John tell us all about Crackdown 2. All this and much, much more. Enjoy!
