How would you describe Matthew Floratos? He’s like a quasi-lucid one man band who, by the second half of the episode, has turned into a hyper neurotic George Costanza, if that’s at all possible. Perhaps 1UP.com user ‘adammcdorman’ said it best when he commented: “I just listened to the first 15 seconds of your podcast, and I’m hooked on (as creepy as it sounds) your speech pattern… adding to iTunes now.”
It’s No Quarter, the one man gaming podcast that tackles the tough, large scale issues without once giving any quarter to anybody, anytime, anywhere. Whether it’s sex in video games, mature video games, review scores, or game of the year awards, Matthew seems to be angry about something. But anger is an underrated emotion – anger’s good. It gets stuff done. And here’s Matthew getting stuff done, to. He gives no quarter, and expects none back.
First time listeners might want to listen to No Quarter #13, which covers John Davison’s gaming predictions for the year of 2010, through to #16, which covers online gaming behavior, and how the cursing and the homophobia and the misogyny and the anti-anthropic commentary is a social issue rather than one limited to gaming. The show is weekly, with occasional specials along the way. It’s No Quarter, with Matthew Floratos.
