First on tap this week is a discussion on the recently released Dante’s Inferno. Jeff Marchiafava and Phil Kollar, who both reviewed the game, are sitting in on this segment and spend most of the segment giving more insight into their scoring of the game. Jeff tries to reiterate the seemingly obvious that a 7 does not make the game terrible, although it seems that has been falling on deaf messageboard ears. Andy Reiner speaks up to disagree with the pair and says he has been enjoying the game so far, but Phil gives a few good reasons why the game falls apart towards the end.

Speaking of defending review scores, Andy Reiner sticks around to talk about his Bioshock 2 review, which Andy McNamara seems to agree with. They both discuss how, in contrast to Dante’s Inferno from the previous segment, Bioshock 2 is slow to get going and is best experienced during the last 3 hours of the game. No one seems to think that multiplayer had any business in this titles and all agree it feels very out of place for the setting.

This week’s Game Informer Show features discussion of our reviews of two of the most anticipated games of early 2010. First off, we dig into EA’s God of War-inspired netherworld epic Dante’s Inferno. Host Matt Helgeson is joined by Phil Kollar, Andy Reiner, and Jeff Marchiafava, who wrote Game Informer’s review of the game. In the show’s second segment, the focus shifts to 2K Marin’s BioShock 2, the sequel to one of the defining games of this generation. Andy Reiner and Game Informer editor in chief Andy McNamara share their mixed feelings about the game, which offers some of the year’s most memorable gaming moments but also has some flaws that keep it from reaching the heights of the first.
