A new logo and new music starts off “Season 3″ of the Bombcast. With Brad out again this week, Dave Snider sits in the worth chair to keep the table full. Dave jumps in on the conversation right up front to discuss some differences between the console and PC editions of Mass Effect 2. Jeff discusses his time with Bioshock 2 and seems to enjoy the game while admitting it doesn’t quite live up to the first. Dave has also been playing a bunch of Darksiders which leads to the acknowledgment that often times, titles that simply have solid gameplay get overlooked.
A fairly full news segment this week starts off with discussion on the shutdown of original Xbox online servers and the possibility of private Xbox game servers. The recent Sonic 4 announcement has cause a bit of an uproar in the gaming world and Ryan is vehemently pissed that people are buying into the hype. The teaser trailer for Fallout New Vegas has brought some excitement to the office as has the release of EA’s fiscal 2011 license. Some notable new releases that have Quick Look tie-ins and emails close out the show.
Covered games and topics: Mass Effect 2, Bioshock 2, Darksiders, Sonic 4, server shutdown, Peter Molyneaux’s balls, Fallout New Vegas
We turn in our guns and our badges for this episode about fake websites, BioShock 2, the end of Xbox Live, the fourth Sonic the Hedgehog game, the most delicious Pokemon, Holodays, modern monocles, intern abuse, and more! We don’t care what the commissioner says, we’re a bunch of loose cannons that play by our own rules!

Best show of the year so far. Amazing new theme song. Whirl World. Snider: permanent fifth seat, please. If anyone doesn't listen to the Bombcast and is wondering why it's the best gaming podcast around, this is a good episode to start with. Whirl World. Whirl World. Ryan's rant about Sonic the Hedgehog hearkened back to Jeff's rant on the HotSpot in 2006 about Duke Nukem Forever. Yes.
