The Geekbox: Episode 51

by Jon Cole in Games, TVFebruary 4th, 2010 @ 6:51 pm
The Geekbox

The Geekbox comes early this week and Ryan Scott pledges that he’ll post the show every Tuesday to preempt each week’s episode of Lost.  Appropriately, the guys talk about a lot of television, covering the great return to form of Burn Notice and the four minute preview of the season premiere of Lost.

For once, the Geekbox crew is on the edge of games coverage, with Karen playing a little bit of Mass Effect 2.  Unfortunately, she hasn’t had much time to play the game, but she seems mostly interested in the plot and apprehensive about the shooter focused combat.  Discussion quickly turns to Darksiders, including a huge spoiler dropped right in the middle.

Fitch has been playing White Knight Chronicles, a game that was released quite a while ago in Japan with a tepid response and retooled for North American release.  Unfortunately, the game simply doesn’t have the luster of high quality Japanese RPGs, ranking among Level 5’s previous B-games like Rogue Galaxy.

Wherein we discuss Foursquare, Vegas vacations, Burn Notice 3×11, Mass Effect 2, Darksiders (spoilers!), White Knight Chronicles, Wizard: The Magazine of Absolute Failure, Star Trek Offline, classic Mega Man, SF Sketchfest, outdated TV rating systems, the Fall of the Lich King, and the first four minutes of Lost’s sixth season (spoilers, obviously!). Starring Ryan Scott, Karen Chu, Mike Cruz, Andrew Fitch, and Ryan Higgins.

Runtime – 1:24:27
