iPad discussion is still the focus this week and the impressions have not really changed. Everyone here is a lot more positive on it than almost any other big tech news outlet, but this isn’t too surprising. Andy makes a good case for the iPad not needing true multitasking and argues that it is so fast that it already has a lot of the benefits of multitasking. Even with the “blazing” speed of the iPad, this seems like a bit of a stretch.
The battle between Apple and Google continues with the Nexus One finally getting true multitouch. Steve Jobs has also been quoted as saying that Google is an offensive competitor since they entered the phone game and Apple has not entered the search game. The crew also discusses the apparent space for a camera in the iPad casing and the innards of the A4 chip. The cast closes on discussion of Apple’s move to hinder 3rd party reading apps as they prepare enter the space with their iBooks store.
The war between Apple and Google is on, why wide screen iPad is a bad idea, and Amazon surrenders… for now.
