Podcast Beyond, Episode 121

by Jonathan Downin in GamesJanuary 15th, 2010 @ 2:18 pm
Podcast Beyond

This week’s podcast Beyond starts with news that Gran Turismo 5′s North American release date has been pushed back to an unspecified date. Modern Warfare 2 has crossed the $1 billion mark and the guys would like to see its final number pitted against Avatar’s final earnings. Bishock developer 2K Boston has reverted to their original name Irrational Games, and to commemorate this lauched a new website and podcast.

The Topic of the Week this week is 2010 predictions. The guys try to stay fairly specific with their thoughts so it will be interesting to see how right or wrong they are at the end of the year. Notable predictions include the PS3 motion controller flopping and no word on the PS4.

Note: I just wanted to chime in with some love for the music at the end of last week and this week’s show. It is part of the Stations Stories collection from Tony Washington. If you like electronic/heavy ambient music this is definitely worth checking out.

Covered games and topics: GT5 release, MW2 $1billion, Irrational Games, new segment intros, ACII, 2010 predictions, emails, VR, TVs

ChrisGreg and Ryan are not only podcasting with the great Colin today, but also have the pleasure of seeing the one and only Sam “The Bishop” Bishop. On today’s show, the Podcast Beyond Crew makes its traditional predictions about 2010. What will happen in Sony Town during the start of this glorious decade? Could the PlayStation 4 be right around the corner? Or will PS3′s enslave the human race? Find out today!

  1. TJ' says:

I agree with the Game Informer show about Sony's control. I mean HD Dead space extraction will probably make me buy it. For hardcore games it seems Sony's is more responsive and precise while Natal looks innovative and minority reporty which is awesome. I say let's give them a chance because Wii is still selling and has some very cool games.
