It looks as if the show has permanently been trimmed down as we again have only two segments this week. The first half focuses on predictions for 2010, starting with discussion on the forthcoming motion controls from both Microsoft and Sony before moving on to the eternal speculation of a Wii HD. The conversation then turns to the future of DLC, which the guys all agree might be moving to smaller items rather than full on expansions. Secret software projects, user generated content, and bringing back old franchises fill out the rest of the discussion along with a few personal predictions from the GI editors.

Segment two focuses mainly on CES and new hardware for the year. Tablet talk starts things off with conversation topics on price, form factor and functionality, which includes possible gaming abilities. Of course, the obligatory 3D talk and subsequent bashing follows much like many other media outlets have been talking about. For something that is supposedly the next big technological jump, it doesn’t seem like any media press companies are all that impressed. Most specifically, they are critical about the technology and design behind the 3D glasses.

Covered games and topics: 2010 predictions, DLC, motion controls, Tablets, 3D gaming

The Game Informer Show Episode 13 looks forward to what is sure to be a monumental year in video games and technology. First off, Phil Kollar, Ben Reeves, and Matthew Kato drop by to speculate on what the year has in store for new games, new systems, and motion control. Along the way, the crew drops a few predictions, so check back in a year to see if we were right. The second segment delves deep into the world of technology, television, and computers with Matt Bertz and Nick Ahrens, who both recently returned from the annual Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas. They let us in on some of the show’s highlights, and express some cynicism regarding the much-hyped push towards 3D television.

  1. Phil Kollar says:

Hey Derek– Just FYI the two-segment thing isn't permanent. We do two or three every week, depending on what's going on in the office, what games are coming out, etc. These have just been sort of slow and busy weeks with deadlines, so we've only done two. :)

  2. TJ' says:

    Really awesome podcast Phil
