It may not be out until March but that doesn’t stop Final Fantasy XIII taking up the first segment of the show, Jeremy, Kat and Christian have been playing the Japanese version. Jeremy and Christian soon came to the realisation that the game is so narrative heavy it really should be played in their native language.
The second part of the show is devoted to RPG highlights on 2009 and upcoming RPGs of the year to come. Everyone has trouble thinking of many standout RPGs from last year, although Kat does give Demon’s Souls some more love. Christian highlights a game within a game by naming Guadia Quest from Retro Game Challenge as one of his favourites of last year.
The upcoming RPGs discussion takes up the rest of the show and unlike the 2009 highlights there is alot to talk about here. The crew hit alot of games but only discuss them briefly for the most part.
Covered games and topics: Final Fantasy XIII, Harvest Moon, World of Warcraft, Demon’s Souls, Retro Game Challenge, Dragon Quest V, Sands of Destruction, Star Trek: Online, World of Warcraft: Cataclysm, Final Fantasy XIV, Kingdom Hearts: Birth by Sleep, Persona 3 Portable, Alpha Protocol
Jeremy Parish, Kat Bailey, Alice Liang, and Gamasutra’s Christian Nutt start the year right with a look at our favorite RPGs of 2009 and the games we’re anticipating in 2010. Plus, lots of import talk about Final Fantasy XIII.
