While other podcasts reflect on the year just past Retronauts looks back a little further, specifically to 1975, 1980, 1985, 1990 and 1995. There’s some retro news to be covered first, the bulk of the discussion is about the disdain for Final Fight 3 and the mixed reactions to the recently released Castlevania: The Adventure ReBirth.
1975 is only briefly talked about, with Pong home consoles being the most notable gaming event of note. Once they get into more eventful years like 1985 and 1990 the guys get very in depth with the goings on in the industry.
The show closes out with the interesting year of 1995, a year which saw the release of Chrono Trigger, Yoshi’s Island and the ill-fated Virtual Boy. However perhaps the biggest thing to come from 1995 was the western release of the Sony Playstation.
