Player One Podcast: Episode 165 (12/21/09) – I think I hear my kid crying

Player One Podcast

It’s back to a four man show this week with Greg Ford returning and Greg Sewart sticking around for the whole episode. The first fairly lengthy section of the show is taken up by voicemails and listener tweets.

Despite not having a lot of time to play Greg Ford has managed to get to quite a few games this week. He’s played the demos for both Bayonetta and Dante’s Inferno, his opinion of them differs greatly. He was not particularly impressed by Dante’s Inferno he felt it tried a bit too hard in some areas and there were some bad design choices. On the other hand he was very impressed with Bayonetta’s combat system and had alot of fun with that demo.

Most of the games talked about this week are hit fairly quickly but all the talk is fairly positive. CJ is enjoying Spirit Tracks and Sewart has been sucked in by The Saboteur. Phil has been playing Blaster Master on Virtual Console which leads Greg Sewart to request a reading from a Blaster Master novel, which of course Phil owns and thus obliges.

Covered games and topics: Voicemails, listener tweets, Zelda: Spirit Tracks, PixelJunk Shooter, Beatles Rock Band, Dante’s Inferno, Bayonetta, Assassins Creed 2, The Saboteur, Band Hero, Blaster Master, Tales of Monkey Island, Pinball Hall of Fame – The Gotliebb Collection

This week! Lots of game talk, tweets, listener voicemails, dropping stuff into toilets, readings from Blaster Master novels and lots more. It’s best if you just listen to this thing ‘cuz it’s over 2 hours — our holiday gift to you.
