The Geekbox is all over the map this week, with very little talk about video games in particular. Karen gets into it the most with her discussion of Umloud 2009, which was a charity event for Child’s Play that took place in the past week. Later on in the show, Mega Man 10 is briefly touched upon with a fair amount of cynicism due to Mega Man 9’s difficulty and the contrived artwork that continues in its sequel.
Doctor Who and the Venture Bros. are mainstay television topics of the show and are discussed at length. Fitch got a chance to check out Red Cliff, which is the John Woo interpretation of the Romance of the Three Kingdoms storyline which gamers might be familiar with from the bastardized rendition in the Dynasty Warriors series.
The topic of the Spike VGAs gets a quick mention, with similar disdain as was covered in most other gaming podcasts. The show closes out with Karen’s defense of her “porno comics”.
Covered games and topics: Umloud 2009, obsessive gaming, The Princess and the Frog, Doctor Who, the Venture Bros. season non-finale, Red Cliff, the Spike Video Game Awards, the most dangerous house in Sunnyvale, Mega Man 10, Karen’s porno comic review, and the technical definition of a decade
This week, we pour out a… well, I guess a cup of frozen yogurt for Frozos, who has supplied the Geekbox crew with tasty treats each week. Their last day of business is this Friday, and we’re all pretty bummed about it. So check out the podcast, Digg it, review it on iTunes, and leave Frozos a message on Twitter telling them how much ass they kick.
