KZ2 is a solid game, but there are just too many drawbacks that I couldn't even consider it. I honestly think that a game like Modern Warfare 2 can edge out Killzone for the simple fact that it controls much more tightly and it doesn't waste its time with anachronistic boss battles. For me I've played so many amazing games this year I just wouldn't feel right arbitrarily choosing just one. When it comes to games to the fickle nature of it all tends to mean alot of games that came out at the start or middle of the year get forgotten about which I think makes most of these discussions pretty flawed. For me, fun is very much the prime factor in distinguishing which games rank at the top, so some of the driving reasons why I chose AC2 was simply because I had a ton of fun with it consistently for a pretty long time. I'm assuming you've played Uncharted 2? Maybe that's a wrong assumption to make. I really enjoyed Assassin's Creed II, but I just felt that it was flawed in so many ways that made the experience uncomfortable for me. Controlling was a chore, for example. I definitely didn't enjoy it as much as Uncharted 2, but that's the thing about game of the year, isn't it? It's the game you enjoy most; it's such a personal choice. Sure, technically, I think we can all agree that Uncharted 2 is the best game this year by a long shot, but as I said, I almost chose Killzone 2, a game that I don't think will be chosen by many.
